CITYSCAPES

This series of artworks called "THE LIGHT OF WEST BURNSIDE" was featured in the Academy Award Nominee film "THEY KNEW YOU BY NAME" funded by the National Endowment of the Humanities. The paintings are acrylic on canvas and the black and white drawings below are done with pencil. This series of artworks was also featured in the anniversary issue of SPECTRUM MAGAZINE OF THE ARTS. At the time this area of Portland (Oregon) was considered to be skid row, and many of the buildings depicted in these scenes no longer exist.
