BEACHSCAPES

The world is round but throughout centuries artists have portrayed its horizon as a flat and straight line. Stand in front of a vast stretch of landscape, turn your head so your eyes see upside down, and you will see a curved horizon line for a round world.  A photograph cannot capture our full visual experience. Our  experience is unique to being alive.  We edit our experience. This edited version is our focus. Our selections compose our vision, with the full version being imprinted on our brain. We focus, our eyes select and edit, as our brain records the complete visual experience.
